Exercise 1
Nita approached the unfamiliar door and nervously took the key from her pocket. She took a deep breath, unlocked the door, paused, then opened it. To her horrow she saw–
that her Millie- her beloved golden retriever was lying unconscious with a small pool of blood near her mouth. She ran and hold her dog on her lap, crying and wanting to know what happened to her.
Was it a burglary attempt? She looked all over the house but saw no one, and also no missing items. She then ran to Millie. She wished if dogs could talk. She picked Millie on her lap and, blood still dripping all over the floor and her clothes and rushed to the car on her way to the Vet.
Millie was immediately taken to the OPD section where the vet examined and took the blood samples. Nita sat on the bench outside the vets office restless, shaking her legs, her voice trembling with fear.
“Is she fine” “Yes, but what did she ate in the morning?”, asked the vet. “It seems to be a severe food infection”. “Food Infection!! How can that be? We feed her premium dog food.”
Nita was still shocked to hear about this food infection.
